Elegant and refined, the Carl Gustaff sits on a hillside, yet is
only a two-minute stroll to the beach. The hotel is just outside
Gustavia, the small and sophisticated capital of the island of St
Barthélémy.
At the Carl Gustaff you will find a total of only 14, one-and
two-bedroom suites. Each suite has its own plunge pool and private
terrace where continental breakfast is served to you each morning.
Splendid views of Gustavia harbor, among the most alluring in the
Caribbean, are captured from the terrace of every suite.
Windsurfing, sailing, snorkeling, day trips to outlying
islands, sport-fishing charters, and many other island activities
can be easily arranged, and the hotel's 46-and 48-foot deluxe cabin
cruisers can be chartered at special rates. The hotel has a fitness
center and a sauna for private use. Alternatively, retreat to your
deck after a morning of exploring the local boutiques and galleries
and think about very little as you sip a cocktail and watch the
yachts slip gently in and out of the harbor.
The bar is the elegant stopping-off place for a
pre-dinner aperitif. "Gustavia," the hotel's restaurant serves a range of tempting
specialties from light lunches to delicious seafood, and full French
gourmet dining. It is an excellent place to dine, and the views at
night with the harbor lights twinkling add to the romance and
elegance of the experience.
